Treasury FFS Project

Client: United States Department of the Treasury - Subcontract to FC Business Systems, Inc.

Description:

Alltech Services, Inc. designed and developed a system for the U.S. Department of the Treasury that downloads FFS accounting data from the Treasury mainframe to an ORACLE database on a DEC Alpha 2100 system, performs a series of analyses to insure the ORACLE database was synchronized with the mainframe database, and provids a set of accounting reports.

The objectives of the project were:
(1) create and replicate existing FFS files and tables on the DEC Alpha 2100 using the ORACLE Database Management System on a table by table, element per element basis,
(2) provide programs to control and accomplish a daily update of the replicated files,
(3) provide complete loading routines/software development to support continual daily updates from FFS V5.3 ASCII files, and (4) establish any needed security software for those limited users with Crystal Reports and other report software packages.

Alltech provided project management and technical staff during the full life cycle development. The project included preparation of a Project Plan, Functional Design Document, System Specifications Document, Database Design Document, Program Code, Test Plan, Test Data, Test Cases, and System Documentation.
